The Lionel Messi Foundation will unveil special initiatives in the United States, Haiti and Chile. These programs will “kick off” a Ten (10) Year strategic mission to implement Legacy Programs throughout the world. These Education Through Sport initiatives will act as a platform of Cultural Exchange, as well as Peace and Development, in an effort to help children and families in need and at risk.

The CATALUNYA XI vs WORLD XI Players For Peace Goodwill Game in the City of St. Louis - will be the first high profile Event that will bring global awareness to the vision of the Messi Foundation. A Press Conference at United Nations Headquarters in NYC will be announced shortly.

The Messi Foundation Players For Peace programs and initiatives will assist the United Nations Sport for Development and Peace, to help bring awareness and support for the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 56/75 on "Building a Peaceful and Better World through Sport and the Olympic Ideal", as well as to bring awareness to the UN Millennium Development Goals Program - with an action to implement and maintain our "Education Through Sport" Legacy Programs.

Players For Peace is a movement that works as an organized Commitment of Goodwill - working on Legacy Projects through the GOL ILUMINADO FOUNDATION - a Federally Registered 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization - in support of the United Nations Sport for Development and Peace program. This is a dynamic and powerful platform that was created by former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, with the objective to utilize Sport as the conduit and mechanism to implement educational initiatives for children in need and at risk.
